LoanDocSolutions was founded in 1997 by Gary Highland, a noted real estate finance attorney and document automation expert. Before founding LoanDocSolutions, Gary Highland was a partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, a renowned law firm founded in 1873, with offices throughout the world. Mr. Highland was the senior partner in the real estate finance group of Bryan Cave’s Southern California offices. Over the years he has represented many of the largest and most prestigious lending institutions in the United States.
Mr. Highland developed a reputation for using automation in his law practice. He has personally developed a number of computer applications to automate the preparation of customized commercial real estate loan documents. Much of the document automation software used by LoanDocSolutions today was first developed by Mr. Highland.
LoanDocSolutions was originally conceived of as a service company supported by proprietary software. Since its founding the LoanDocSolutions web application has advanced tremendously, and the company has evolved from a service company backed by software to a software company backed by expert support.

President and General Counsel
Gary Highland was born in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois where he resided through his freshman year of college at the University of Illinois. Mr. Highland completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, where he received a B.A. degree in social sciences in 1976. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1979. While there, he served as Notes Editor for the Southern California Law Review.
Since graduating from law school, Gary Highland’s law practice has been focused exclusively on representation of lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions. Mr. Highland developed a reputation for using automation in his law practice, and has been featured in numerous articles on document automation and law office technology.
Mr. Highland is a member of the Orange County and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of California, American Mensa and The Pacific Club. Gary Highland has resided in Newport Beach, California for many years, where he lives with his family including three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, movies, photography and cooking.
Associate General Counsel
Rhiley Walsh graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she served as a staff member for the University of San Francisco Law Review. Rhiley won the CALI Award for the highest grade in Antitrust Law and IP Rights, she also competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and won the USF Law Moot Court Best Oral Argument Award.
Prior to joining LoanDocSolutions, Rhiley was a Banking & Finance attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she represented private equity firms, portfolio companies and corporate borrowers in connection with credit facilities, financings, and restructurings. Prior to that Rhiley was an associate attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, focusing on venture capital finance. As a law student, Rhiley interned at NBC Universal and Baker & McKenzie LLP’s Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam office.
Rhiley is a member of the State Bar of California and the Filipino Lawyers of Orange County. As a VA-accredited attorney, she has represented military veteran clients on a pro bono basis. Rhiley speaks fluent French and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.
Customer Support Manager
Christopher Allison received his Bachelor’s Degree in political science from the University of Arizona.
An expert in commercial real estate loan documentation, Christopher manages the LDS customer support team consisting of document specialists and real estate finance attorneys.
Before joining LoanDocSolutions, Christopher was a research associate for CoStar Group, Inc. Prior to that Christopher was a foreign English teacher at the ChungDam Institute in Incheon, South Korea.
In his free time, Christopher enjoys spending time with his family, including two young children.
